Pastel pencils, watercolors? If this were a narrative moment or sign, a verb or an adjective I have no idea what it would be. But to me has something very analogous to those horses of Divided Soul. Kind of Pictoric, all in suspense, arrested tension, like a complete pause sensation but a pause not in the pace of the events, just a perception of it, that pause feeling you might have on the recognition of a point as a turning point

  2. David, you should see if you can hitch a ride with Sheikh Maktoum from there to here in Kentucky. Keeneland racing is starting up the first week in April. Owning a large farm and throughbred operation here, he is usually in town for it and arrives in two 747 jumbo jets (one for him and his family and associates, and one for the horses).

Great shot, the movement and feel remind me of soaps suds party.

    cheers, david

  4. I keep hearing the new Fuji X100S is rather brilliant. It seems the developers have managed fix most of the negative points on the earlier version…

  5. Once again, it is Satuday, the seventh day, the day I am free to drop into Burn, roam around, make comments and such, so I say “hi.”

As to the photo above, I join in the rote but true praise.

    It is awesome.

  6. John, I always just head for wherever the most recent comments are appearing here in road trips…

Nice shots. Looks like an interesting event.

I like the old school feel in 2, 3, and 15 especially.

  7. Yes film isn’t dead. I went to the beach on Friday with my new Samsung S3 phone camera with Instagram and my Fuji 6×7 rangefinder and happily shot away with both cameras. Met a 17 year old kid who I noticed was taking pictures of his friends with a film camera. Said he didn’t need the immediacy of digital and film was the “Real thing”.

  8. John it is great to see that grit back into your images some impressive singles there’
Paul nothing a good conversation beats a film image anyday

  9. Hi all – want to make sure you catch this. DAH talks about his first photobook Tell it Like it is:
