Bomboli , cloudforest , Ecuador.The kids don’t have school every day because the teacher doesn’t have transport, to make the journey from the town to the rural schools in smaller villages. The children in these areas might attend school a few days a week but everyday they are working, helping their parents. They tend to the garden, milk the cow, make cheese, and collect firewood – the usual farm chores. But they spend a lot of time alone too, so school is extremely important part of their lives. Many of the parents of these kids work as farmhands or cowboys on nearby haciendas.
