The cool little video clip above by maestro Pete Longworth really is the way it is around my loft right now. Creative juices flowing the way they SHOULD always flow but rarely do. Along with doing my own work, my number one priority, is to mentor those who seek to marry art, craft, and daily life into one holistic experience. Check this clip out. It is where we are right now with my RIO edit and with the overall mood of Burn. Pete shot this straight up , no staging, fast edit. My place right now. Saturday afternoon and Janet is cleaning for me. Steady stream of collaborators requires high maintenance, lots of cold beer and an open mind. Everybody here is helping me. Eva Kunz flew here from Italy to coordinate printing, Susan Welchman editor on RIO for NatGeo came up to add some of my latest work to her mix, Chris Bradley, Creative Director of RGA who caught a cab here from across the river, and Kaya Berne one of my digital assistants came up from Virginia where she lives and our connections are on Skype. A few Burnians are dropping by. If you are in the hood come on over. Better bring some beer or wine though because honestly we are busy. We even forgot to eat for two days last week.

But yes, I absolutely believe in David and this book.. he really puts himself in a difficult place to be in though, ’cause it changes the way of thinking about books.. a book is not just a book is a book.. he made it not only harder for the others by raising the bar, but for himself too.. which is great, it’s creativity at work..
Rebecca Norris Webb showed us her new upcoming book on screen, completely different from Rio, but also there, bar raised with new ideas on design (all that obviously has at its core outstanding photography in both cases).. as said previously, exciting times ahead..

OK, just had to take a break from Rio…been immersed in that city since Nov 15 except to see my mother for Christmas…now looking at Burn….discussing with Diego and Bryan our design…or our wanna be design that is…should be up really soon…a new look and hopefully the beginning at least of making more visible our incredibly outrageous archive of stories which have appeared on Burn…basically we just want to make the stuff we actually have here on Burn visible..right now you gotta be a private detective….and of course we always discuss new stuff, but new stuff takes new people and well we like being small…growing sizewise is not our interest…but yes yes we want to get better…qualitywise…yes yes EPF announcement just hours away….

I hear you and I’m just about as sick and tired of all the Euro crap. Personally I don’t know a single person here in Spain who doesn’t regret the Euro and we all want to get out. But of course just as in Greece there are practically no politicians listening to the people and all the economic struggles we are all enduring to keep up with Germany and France. So much for democracy…
