  1. David – for me, the first one works the best: certainly in terms of the graphic dynamics of the composition. I even like the crooked horizon in this respect, as it reinforces the force of the wind (on the photographer). At first I thought, why isn’t the passerby affected by the wind when your friend (Alex?) has to have her hood on and hold on to it and even the dog seems to be squinting? But the dynamics win out in making this the most interesting and expressive shot.

    What I liked about the third one is the dog framed by the long strands of Alex’s hair, but that would have worked better for me if the depth of focus was greater so that the dog and the sea would be sharper.
