MaryannaHarvey
“we never say goodbye” were my mother’s last words today as she passed on with a smile on her face..no surprise at all to the Harvey clan for whom she is our guiding light.. my mom is my single greatest influence in life, shown here on her most recent 93rd birthday.. Maryanna Harvey never passed judgement on anyone and is a positive influence on all around her.. sadness will be replaced quickly by celebration…she would insist on it.. i love you Mom

  3. I Think Continually Of Those Who Were Truly Great

I think continually of those who were truly great.
Who, from the womb, remembered the soul’s history
Through corridors of light where the hours are suns
Endless and singing. Whose lovely ambition
Was that their lips, still touched with fire,
Should tell of the Spirit clothed from head to foot in song.
And who hoarded from the Spring branches
The desires falling across their bodies like blossoms.

What is precious is never to forget
The essential delight of the blood drawn from ageless springs
Breaking through rocks in worlds before our earth.
Never to deny its pleasure in the morning simple light
Nor its grave evening demand for love.
Never to allow gradually the traffic to smother
With noise and fog the flowering of the spirit.

Near the snow, near the sun, in the highest fields
See how these names are fŠted by the waving grass
And by the streamers of white cloud
And whispers of wind in the listening sky.
The names of those who in their lives fought for life
Who wore at their hearts the fire’s center.
Born of the sun they traveled a short while towards the sun,
And left the vivid air signed with their honor.

Y do believe in that: nunca decimos adiós. And gracias gracias gracias por su luz Mrs. Maryanna Harvey.

    Un gran abrazo.

  5. My deepest sympathy to you David.
As a philosopher once said, death is not the opposite of life. It is the opposite of birth. Life has no opposite. Big hug to you my friend.

  6. David, the strong family resemblance I see above reminds me of your lesson that we look in the mirror and ask ourselves, “What do we see?”. It is the aura of proud love and glowing respect here, whether your mother saw it in your lens or just behind the camera. My thoughts are with you and your family.

  7. David,

Rachel and I send warm thoughts to you & the rest of the family. Thanks for sharing so many of those experiences, it was a great pleasure to have known Maryanna! Let us know if we can help in any way. Be well!

  8. @ DAVID,

  11. David, my condolences. Your mom has been so strong in body and spirit I had almost come to believe she would outlast us all. How fortunate you are to have had such a mom and for so long, even though in the end it always seems shockingly short.

  12. Abundant things have little value. Two parents seem hardly enough as they are gone too soon. And irreplaceable. Sorry for your loss.

  15. From the snippets, you’ve shared over the past few years your mother was, indeed,a wonderful woman.
She will,no doubt, be missed but her light will shine on.

  16. Brother David,

I will be facing this same situation sometime in the future with my parents as they are in their Eightys. I just wanted to say thanks for for reminding me that in death we should CELEBRATE someone life!!!

    Your friend,

    Charles

  17. … And so..
We lost our mothers on the same day my friend..
Shared a difficult journey home parallel to each other.

Life on pause, then an intense arrival.
Think of the joy we bought them.. The gifts..
In quiet moments there are the happiest memories.

Much love to your family and maximum respect for your mother – what a great job she did.

Mothers are fucking great, as a friend once said.
