I don’t know, David..this photo is not one that makes me go ohhhhh, unless i was viewing it during a cold snap in NYC and anything looked better to me than the frigid cement walls outside my window. The digital noise is not a real visual treat to me. It really is different than film grain, especially in color, donchathink? And the photo before it, “Red Towel” which i loved on a small screen seemed a tad bit jittery on a big screen. Now maybe these are just quick snaps to let us all know you’re still out there and square but i for one would love to see something DAH-worthy..like for example your photo of Joe McNally..i mean, this IS BURN Magazine, you know? You got me spoiled way back when and now i guess i feel a little petulant..so don’t want to hurt your feelings, just want to go Ohhhhhh!!!

you don’t hurt my feelings!! these are my iPhone shots from Instagram that mostly show up here…i will take your advice however and post larger files etc…scroll all the way down and you may see some you like from the last few weeks…i don’t take good pictures every day!! however i would not put my photo of Joe McNally as a particularly good shot either…pretty routine i would say…..in Rio and in Jamaica i was not really shooting…but giving away newspapers and doing a workshop in Jamaica…scroll back to Dubai, and you might see some a bit more to your taste….

Ohh..ok, i didn´t know they were shot with your phone. Makes sense now. I did like the Joe McNally photo because the building looked like an upside down icicle all sparkly and magical while Joe´s face was a sort of average flashed snap of a middle-aged man. Over time the contrast between his face and the building kept pulling me in. The building made me want to study his face and his face made me want to study the building. So whatever your judgement, i consider it effective and actually rather special.
Ok, will get out my trowel and dig around a bit for some other shots. But it´s not like you have to serve up something fabulous on a regular basis or anything..only a semi-regular basis, like every other day. Heh.
