“This boy is coming to Rio. Soon. He is 40 years old today. Happy Birthday Erin. My youngest son was with me here in Rio two years ago for Carnaval and costumed himself and paraded in the Sambódromo with one of the local samba schools along with yoga guru Michelle Smith, my other son Bryan’s most significant. Here pictured with Erin is Sophie, Erin’s wife of 10 years, and a professor of film at Vassar College.

Erin is a filmmaker. His most recent piece on television was The Presidents Photographers which aired on PBS and was centered around Pete Souza , Barack Obama’s personal photographer. Prior Erin was nominated for an Emmy for his documentary Gorilla Murders and he was also the Director of Photography for a French language feature film Autumn. I am not sure how many films Erin has made, but a lot. I doubt he has counted either.

Both of my sons rip it on the water and in the air. Surfers, kite boarders, pilots. Erin was here in Rio last time to see me a bit, but mostly to head up north for the strong kite boarding winds…”
